The ARC is the original transocean rally for cruising yachts. Around 150 boats set sail every year in November, sailing from Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay on Saint Lucia.
The rally attracts people of all ages and nationalities, sailing monohulls, multihulls and even motor boats from 27 feet to 100 feet (8.23m-32m). Over 8,000 boats have sailed with us to the Caribbean since the first ARC in 1986.
The 2,700NM Atlantic crossing takes around 18-21 days for the average yacht. The record is 8 days and six hours, set by the maxi Rambler 88 (USA) in 2016.
Starting on Sunday 11 January 2026, this thrilling 2,995-nautical mile challenge will once again set sail from Calero Marinas Marina Lanzarote in the Canary Islands before charting a new course west to a spectacular finish in Antigua, West Indies. This exciting new destination ushers in a vibrant chapter in the race’s evolution, reinforcing its place as one of the great modern ocean classics and offering better logistics for race teams continuing on to Antigua for the RORC Caribbean 600.
Races will be held in the coastal waters of Dutch and French St Maarten / St Martin; and for the Ocean Class (larger and higher speed potential entrants) there will be longer races around St. Barth’s and Saba.
The 17th edition of the RORC Caribbean 600 will start on Monday 23rd of February, 2026. Starting and finishing in Antigua. The classic Royal Ocean Racing Club's non-stop 600nm race goes around 11 Caribbean islands.
The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta will celebrate its 46th edition in 2026 from MARCH 5-8, 2026. It is the largest regatta in the Caribbean and likely the largest warm water regatta in the world.
